Mini Wind Farm in the Park:

Urban parks bring scenes and specimens from nature and countryside/landscape into towns and cities. By bringing the sound of wind from far away places I wanted the piece to act in a similar way. Wind turbines are usually located in open, natural environments and out of sight of the mostly urban users/consumers of energy. Like traditional windmills, this installation co-locates generation and use. Clusters of wind turbines, often located in the open spaces of nature, have essentially a sculptural character. Their optimal shapes both suggest beauty and brutal functionality. My little wind farm has a much more quirky and playful character. |
