“301” (2002-03) is a series of self-portraits made with one year’s growth of facial hair. The twelve portraits are each produced exclusively with one month’s crop of stubble applied to paper with glue. The work of the artist is an offering of what has grown and come to fruition. In the ‘stubble drawings’ the product is reaped in 301 daily harvests.
